Development of poster

When a music video or a single is being one of the general ways to advertise this is through poster and therefore here I will be creating my own poster to meet my music genre. Within this document I will illustrate how I have produced this print. For the first step, I started with a black background as it will allow the texts to standout typically we associate black with mystery which links with my main image within the CD cover.  Throughout my research I noticed that all the form of advertisements the colour scheme always matches. I then added the title to my page by producing it myself, this was done through a text tool which allows me to use any font I would like and for this title I have used the same font as my CD to strongly follow the codes and conventions. Also to make the text more interesting I have used an effect tools and apply filters to it such as, inner glow, stork and outer glow. This really enhances the professionalism. In my opinion having a pain text can be very boring as it can be seen commonly. I have across a way to make the text look appealing but still sticking with the idea of minimalism as it a contemporary theme and EDM music is contemporary. The way is to create next layer of text with faded out effect as you can see that the bottom of the title is more solid at the bottom than top. This is because I would like to stick with the overall theme. The next thing I have added is the out now writing the purpose of this is fairly simple to just encourage the audience and gain their attention.

Advertisement is a significant matter in my opinion is aesthetic it is where the audience will gain trusts and give you good rating moreover, the more profession the document the more likely audience will gain brand recognitions’. This also applied to social media which is another strong source to make an advertisement. I decided to add the word ‘out now’ in capital to really grab the audience’s attention by writing it in capital is symbolises as something important meaning the audience will pay more attention to it.

After including the main texts I noticed that the page still looks bit plain and I could add something for more to it. I then added an effect at the bottom of poster which is an image of mountain that signifies adventure, exploration and challenges allowing the user to emphasise on EMD music the mountain picture was taken from Google images and I have made an edit on this by adding filter onto it by changing the colour to grey scale to get the dark atmosphere effect and reduced the opacity to make sure the image does not stand out too much. The reason for that is to match poster with my CD cover as the main image was dark and I would like to stick with the same concept. By making all the document consistent will represent my brand as professional. For the next step I have added a straight line to separate the text between the image, this was done through a shape tool as it helps me to make the line straight using the colour white to link it with the text.

After I will then be adding a main image to make sure that the poster it not empty I decided to a picture of a rose as my main image as rose represents nature which associates with the mountain. Also it is a simple 2D design image meaning that is follows the theme of minimalism and that is what I am trying create. This image was taken from a social media site called twitter where I have saved it and import the picture onto my file. To make sure this image matches with the poster I have the easy selection tool to remove white background image this is because I do not find it appealing if the white background of the image stands out too much against the current background. It also did not look professional and seems too distracting. After adding the rose there is still too much blank space and therefore I have added another form of writing in Chinese. This strongly links to my actual music video as one of the settings is China town and to produce this I searched the writing from google images and the writing came in black so I had to change it to white by using magic wound tool to select the area I wish to change the colour white. Moreover I then added a further effect by double click on the lay and select effects that suits the writing from that I have selected inner glow, inner shadow and etc. 

To complete the whole poster I had a review of what was missing and I discovered that conventionally on the advert photo currently many have included rating from popular magazines or newspaper. I will be applying this on to my own poster to make it look legitimate and meet the conventional features. I produced this by adding my own star shapes as if I am giving music the rating and underneath it have added two very famous music magazines. By including this, the audience it will strongly gained the audience’s attention and put the brand in a better reputation. This means that audience are more likely to purchase the in album or listen to the music. The star was done by using a shape tool I then selected a star shape and create one in a white colour this is because I would like to match it with my text and the main image. I then copied and paste the stars to the amount I want to make it seems like it is not biased I have add different quantity for each magazine as you can see that from NME is out of five and the other one is four and a half. Also to include the name I simply used the text tool and write the name then changed it to the same font as the main text to keep up with the professional look. Finally to finish this off complete I have included my logo at the corner of the page as it presents the brand.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    

Development of CD Disk

Inside an album I noticed that there is always a disc cover. I think that it is crucial if I have added this also.  In order to do create I used the same image as the CD cover, this is normally done by the conventional features. The next step is producing a circle shape to follow the CD shape moreover I feel there is something missing within the circle so I decided to add the name exhibition on the top to make it look more proportional and balanced. In my opinion those three edits meet its conventions allowing professional composition overall I feel that they are proficient.

When creating the CD disk, I began by using the same font as the Cd cover, i have chosen to do this as it adds continuity between the different sides of the digipak. I have chosen to use the font   

"Orator STD" as this font is quite small and therefore looks proportionate on the CD disk cover. The effects on the text is also the same with the same white stroke and grey and black overlay being apparent. I then have choses to use a white background for the Disk as this applies the the current codes and inceptions of a music video. I have decided to input the logo of the group at the top of the disk, this is a unique place in placing the logo however i have also placed the logo on the top on the CD cover itself. The logo is once again a dark colour to make it stand out from the white background. After completing this task i then decided to create visual imagery by adding the mountain range which can be seen in the bottom 

of the CD. 

I have used this image as this isis a similar image to what I have seen in my research, the album cover below shows a similar style of imagery with the mountain being used in both of the pieces of media. I have chosen to lower the opacity of the mountains to make them more subtle and inconspicuous. I have then used the brush tool in order to clear away the edges of the mountain range. 

After this I lastly decided to editing the layer by adding a motion blur, I have use this tool before in the coursework and therefore am familiar with how to use the tool. I have decided to blur this image to continue the theme of mystery throughout my coursework and i believe the blur tool allows for a visually pleasing effect that is not seen in allot of different music cd covers allowing my piece of coursework to be unique.
